Laurel Behaviour Support Services (LBSS) was established in 1969 as Laurel House, one of the few residential treatment centres for children and adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in British Columbia. Over time, LBSS evolved into an outreach service, supporting children, families and service providers directly in home and community settings.
In 2001, we merged with posAbilities, a community living agency that offers a variety of supports including community inclusion, employment and home living to persons with autism and other intellectual disabilities. Persons served gained access to a variety of flexible and responsive support services through one association. At posAbilities, services are individualized and tailored to suit a person’s needs as they change throughout their lifespan.
